Kurt Krumenauer

President/Broker

Developing relationships. Creating deals. Enriching clients. That’s Kurt Krumenauer’s professional mission and the foundation of his business. As President/Broker of Midwest Apartment Brokers, a Commercial Real Estate brokerage firm specializing in the acquisition and disposition of multi-family apartments properties, Kurt has upheld a ‘customer-first, customer only’ focus that has not wavered since starting the company in 2008.

A commercial real estate specialist since 2001, Kurt has always been known as a take-charge, no-fluff professional who thinks outside the box to find clients inventive solutions. He specializes in ‘quiet’ sales of apartment buildings and land that are not technically on the market, and is unstoppable in his tenacity and dedication to making deals happen. “I love chasing and creating deals. Whether it be scouting for Grade A properties or parcels of land and determining their best use, or consulting property owners who originally had no intention to sell, I really enjoy going after deals that aren’t there, then getting them done.”

In providing full-service, results-driven real estate assistance to his clients, Kurt does everything possible to make sure they walk away with the best possible outcome and least amount of stress. When it comes to handling large real estate deals, he knows there are many issues that arise, so takes the pressure off by being completely hands on. “I’ll interact with renters for my sellers, even meet with the city for my buyers to make sure the property can be developed in the way that they envision.” No matter what needs to be done or what information must be secured, Kurt is always on it.

Having spent 10 years in construction, general contracting and construction management, Kurt has a distinct understanding of the quality of a building or building site, and what it takes to erect, remodel or maintain a property. This expertise gives him an edge in giving clients an accurate assessment of the inherent steps, blockages and value involved. It also enables him to envision the potential of a property better than others in his field. One example was a large building he recently sold. Kurt knew it was a diamond in the rough, and by looking at the lot saw it could fit in extra units. Working with the city of Minneapolis, he confirmed this for his client, convinced the owner to sell, and made the deal. His client, a major investor who owns thousands of units and is now in the process of developing the extra land, told Kurt repeatedly this is the best deal he’s ever done. “That makes it all worth it,” Kurt says.
